LIVE WISE

Tikkun Olam (Hebrew for repairing the world) is a central theme woven into everything we do at Camp Wise. Whether it's showing sportsmanship on the sports field, recyling soda cans at meals, or even planting a vegetable garden to use in our kitchen, it's everywhere!

During the summer of 2009 we will be introducing a new Tikkun Olam initiative at camp called LIVE WISE! Below is a list of the projects we're doing this summer.

- All-Camp T-shirt Drive (our first project in 2009)! Here's how it will work:

Before coming to camp campers should chose 1 or 2 t-shirts that they want to donate. On the first day of camp, we’ll collect all of the t-shirts from around camp and donate them on behalf of our entire camp community.

- Solel Community Service

Each summer Solel (our 10th grade village) participates in a community service project. This year they will be traveling to the Monarch School to help run activities and interact with the participants of Monarch's summer program.

 

Over the summer we will be adding to our list of LIVE WISE initiatives at camp!
